Fake Republicans Win Again
The establishment stranglehold in the state of South Carolina continues. Democrats disguised as Republicans continue to pull the wool over the eyes of millions. I’ve lived here for five years now, and been through three primaries (2022, 2024, and 2026). All three have been major disappointments. I’ve been involved with grass roots candidates in all of them, and I watched, as ignorance ruled the day each time. This state, full of conservatives, continues to go to the ballot box and put the closest thing to a Democrat with an R after their name in power. From state representatives (mine has a 24% conservative voting record) to House Representatives (Russell Fry was the least conservative candidate on the ballot when he first won in 2022), and now Senate and Gubernatorial candidates. Lindsey Graham, the warmongering, USAID loving, 43% conservative voter will have another six years (assuming he wins the general election) to tack on to his current 24. And for governor, with six candidates on the ballot, the worst two advanced to a runoff. Pamela Evette, the DEI queen, and Alan Wilson, the failed AG.
Why does this keep happening? There are some obvious reasons, and some not so obvious ones. The most obvious one, something this blog has harped upon, is the fact that President Trump, as much as we love him, makes the absolute worst endorsements. This generally happens nationwide, but especially in this state. He gets it wrong here every single time and gets behind the most corrupt swamp rats while claiming he will drain the swamp. Here in South Carolina, he is making the swamp much deeper.
Leadership starts at the top, and the South Carolina Republican Party has someone in charge who is drunk with power, and who empowers false Republican establishment groups. His name is Drew McKissick, and he has not only protected the establishment, but he has punished conservatives. He has cheated his way into reelection more than once by keeping conservative counties that would vote against him out of the state convention. He acts like he wants to close primaries, but he has to say that to appease the state’s conservative base. He wants to do nothing about them, further allowing Democrats to cross over, vote on Republican ballots, and choose the most liberal candidate, like Lindsey Graham. Nor does he want to get rid of voting machines, or non-partisan elections which allow candidates to conceal their beliefs.
Mark Lynch was unable to get the mainstream media interviews the Lindsey Graham has enjoyed for years. Lindsey was (and is) welcomed on Fox News regularly, where they never seemed to ask him about his primary or his voting record. They only talked about current Senate events and foreign conflicts. Graham made deals with Fox News and Newsmax to keep Lynch off those networks. Graham wanted to sail through the primary while bringing the least amount of attention to his opponent, and he did just that. His power and influence enabled his coverup, so his record would not be questioned. Like it or not, conservatives, Fox News is part of the mainstream media. They are too far to the left and have been for years. They would not allow talk of election fraud after the 2020 election. Many of their hosts and guests are fake Republicans, like Brian Kilmeade, Karl Rove, and even Sean Hannity. These people simp for the establishment. Karl Rove ranted against Ken Paxton in favor of John Cornyn. Kilmeade made a hissy fit when Republicans replaced Kevin McCarthy with Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. Hannity has kept conservatives out of his town halls who would ask tough questions of his guests, and has Lindsey Graham as a guest on his show constantly.
Lindsey Graham had 29 million dollars to spend, Mark Lynch had 5. And his money did not come from corrupt PACs and other entities; it came from his own retirement fund. This is why it’s always an uphill battle. The establishment is always well funded. The grass roots are not. Here in South Carolina, aside from the funding, people tend to tune out after retirement, do not vet their candidates, and are happy with the status quo. Most of Graham’s support came from an older age bracket. No surprise there. That is why BOTR is on a never-ending mission to raise awareness and get people to pay more attention. The establishment does not want you paying attention or looking into their past, or their voting records.
Mark Lynch put up a hell of a fight, considering his lack of resources and exposure. Capturing nearly 30% of the vote in a crowded field with every force of the corrupt establishment working against him deserves to be commended. I, for one am tired of watching the corrupt shills of the fake Republican party celebrate every primary day down here. What they want is for us to give up the fight. But that’s not gonna happen.
