Senate Seats Are Not Family Heirlooms
Lindsey Graham’s funeral occurred earlier this week. Any readers of this blog, or anyone I know personally know I was no fan of the guy. I take nothing back just because he Is no longer with us. But unlike the left, we conservatives, myself included, do not wish death on anyone, nor are we glad he passed. I wanted him to lose in the primary, but I wanted it to be because people saw through him and what he stood for. Mark Lynch, whom I campaigned for, a good man, and a man of God, would have represented us well. And he still might, as he has decided to run again in the emergency primary on August 11. I am glad he did.
That all being said, South Carolina politics has been a huge disappointment to me since I moved here from New York. The swamp reigns supreme, the wrong people have President Trump’s ear, and the Republican party always seems to elect the closest thing to a Democrat in their primaries. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone who knows me or reads my material. These swamp rats and shills (and Graham was one of them) are much easier to control. They generally have terrible conservative voting records. And now that Lindsey has passed on, it seems they want to continue that tradition.
It took all of five minutes of Darline Graham Nordone’s assignment to finish out Lindsey’s term (which is about five months) for the president to endorse her to run for the seat for a full six-year term. I had the first mailing from the corrupt “Security is Strength PAC,” which is the PAC that sent most of Lindsey’s mailings during the original primary. On the FEC (Federal Election Commission) financial disclosures page, we can see that the total they raised (from January 1, 2025 to midyear 2026) is $5,720,861.59. Out of that amount, $5,388,861.59 came from outside the state of South Carolina. That’s over 94%. These out of staters seem intent on replacing a swamp rat with someone related to a swamp rat, and President Trump is on board. Never mind the fact that she has no idea what she is doing, and the fact that the seat is not a family heirloom. It belongs to We the People, not the Graham family.
Meanwhile, South Carolina has one of the most corrupt state Republican Parties in the entire country, if not the most corrupt. We have a rino shill for a leader, Drew McKissick who has cheated his way into reelection more than once by barring counties who would vote against him from the state convention, citing some sort of made-up technicality, or discrepancy, or something else he invents. In Horry, he was instrumental in replacing the conservative county party leadership with Democrat-lite leadership. He refused to give the county reorganization packet to the duly elected conservative leadership, favoring what he could control, and the party who would vote him back in. In their effort to control elections and candidates, and to keep actual conservatives off the ballot, the state party, under McKissick’s auspices, recently enacted a rule stating that you must have voted in two of the last three statewide Republican primaries in order to run for office on the Republican ticket. This keeps their little power circle together and keeps out people who are a threat to their power that are moving here.
Darline Graham has not voted in two of the last three statewide primaries. Yet the SCGOP gave her the green light to be the party’s nominee in November. President Trump told them to do it, and like good little soldiers, they obliged, bending the rules they made in the process. They adjust the rules favorably for the people they like, and unfavorable for those they don’t. We deserve better than this, but apathy keeps people uninvolved. That apathetic attitude is what the establishment counts on to keep people in the dark.
