Carla’s Hypocritical Text (12/12/2024)

Carla Schuessler (who is unfortunately my state house representative) sent the attached text message the other day to members of her constituency. She also has a voting record, which currently stands at 25% conservative.

She thinks she gets to tell us what is and is not conservative, and yet, she has a worse conservative voting record than several democrats. We deserve better than this.

The speaker that state house "republicans" put in is Murrell Smith, and as you can see, his conservative voting record is 35%. The state as a whole only turns out 40% conservative legislation. This is the standard republicans in this state live by. Not acceptable.

I can't stress how important it is to have an informed electorate. People go to the polls here and vote for the person with the R after their name, but don't realize how they get there. Corrupt money. Corrupt chambers of commerce. Fraud organizations like Americans for Prosperity that fund the closest thing to a democrat they can find.

In this case, I am represented by a person who only changed her party affiliation from democrat to republican when this district was newly created three years ago. Prior to that she worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2016 and was a member of a democrat womens' group here in Horry. She's won primary challenges against actual conservative candidates twice out of pure ignorance.

Last but not least, she refers to the Freedom Caucus as liars. (Doesn't back it up though.) No, she and other rinos are threatened by actual conservatives. Look at their voting records. Compare those to hers. We need to add to the Freedom Caucus and get rid of these self serving false republicans. They do not represent us. 69% of Horry county voted for President Trump in November. They deserve better than 25% conservatism.
