Evette’s Visit, Answering No Real Questions (6/4/2024)

Last night, I attended a town hall event with the Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Pamela Evette.

If I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be the following: It was one hour of her talking while actually saying nothing.

The format of the event was that of an interview, with the interviewer being a local radio talk show host. The questions he asked he for an hour were very generic, revealing nothing people actually wanted to know. Every question was a layup, did not challenge her, and was pre-selected. They were designed to elevate her. She did not take questions from the crowd as I had hoped. With about 95% of the crowd in attendance being rino or democrat support, this was acceptable as they mindlessly cheered along. But to the other 5% of actual patriots, like myself, who showed up, it is not.

There were a few things she did say that I found disturbing. She bragged about how South Carolina was doing a great job handling crime. This is simply not true. South Carolina ranks 8th in the nation in crime, and the reason for that is because our corrupt state politicians would rather line their pockets with new building rather than keep up with the infrastructure. Not only is crime on the rise, but schools are overcrowded and roads are falling apart.

She also said judges should be appointed by the governor. We are one of only two states in the country where politicians appoint judges. When she said that, the few patriots in the room, including myself, spoke aloud the word “elected” to replace the word “appointed.” We were ignored. Judges merely have to play ball with corruption to be appointed around here.

She also mentioned how she was trying to bring Lockheed Martin to the state. In reality, this just proves she’s part of the war machine, like Lindsey Graham. I don’t know if she got the memo, but the party of MAGA is not for war. Having Lockheed here would expand the power of warmongers. That’s the goal.

I wanted to ask her about the budget the house and senate of South Carolina just passed. The one in which an extra $1 billion was found, with which they immediately found something to spend it on rather than even entertain the notion of returning it to the taxpayers or for infrastructure. Said budget also had taxpayer funded abortion, subsidies for college tuition, $18 million for a walkway for MUSC, $13 million for a green new deal study, funds for the Human Affairs commission (which openly promotes DEI), $6 million for the SC Sea Grant Consortium which researches climate change, and the kicker, an 80% increase in their own salaries. Yes, they’d rather pay themselves than you. Is this a red state? No, that’s an illusion. We turn out about 40% conservative legislation here. They want you to think it is. They want you to vote for the big money candidates with fake Rs after their names. (That’s another article for another day.)

Other questions I would have liked to hear the answers to, but were not allowed to be asked:

Are you running for governor? (The answer to this is almost definitely yes, but she does not want to commit to it this early.)

Why were you a part of a conspiracy involving a group of self-named “pirates” who connived to overthrow the grass roots duly elected Horry County GOP? (There’s proof of this.)

Why do you think judges should not be elected?

I don’t know about you, but I believe South Carolina deserves better.
