Health Czar for SC (5/23/2024)

Back in February, the state house of South Carolina passed a bill dubbed the "health czar" bill, in which a bureaucrat would be given carte blanche to make unilateral decisions about our health, what doctors people are allowed to visit, what drugs they can take, whether or not lockdowns happen (and they will if this state ever gets a democrat governor), etc. They chose this path instead of limiting governmental emergency powers and decentralizing government control over healthcare. This was essentially bringing the regime of Anthony Fauci to "red" South Carolina. And along with all the democrats, the fake republicans voted for it. The freedom caucus, as usual, took a hard line against this bill, which is pure socialism.

Carla Schuessler, my representative, and a democrat in disguise, voted for this monstrosity. As I stated in a previous post, she voted for Hillary Clinton and Obama, and even worked on the Clinton Campaign. She, like so many others in the state house, put an "R" after her name so she could win elections. Jeff Johnson, in nearby district 58, also voted for this socialist bill.

When this bill passed, I felt the people deserved an explanation from those who voted for the bill. I reached out to three representatives. Carla Schuessler and Jeff Johnson were two of them. (William Bailey was the other.)

Me: "Ms. Schuessler, might I inquire as to why you voted for H4927, an obviously socialist medical bill? If you're on the same team as all the democrats, it may be time to reconsider your position. I'd contend the people who elected you would agree."

Schuessler's response was that she was at an event at the time, and she'd like to e-mail me information about it. I agreed and sent her my e-mail address. That e-mail, unsurprisingly, never came.

I wrote the exact same inquiry to Johnson and Bailey. Both gave me long drawn out explanations about DHEC being broken and someone had to step in. I did not find their answers acceptable, but at least they gave me something, unlike Schuessler. I asked them both why government expansion was the answer to the problem. Neither could explain why.

Thankfully, due to the efforts of the freedom caucus, the bill was defeated by a procedural maneuver wielded by patriots Josiah Magnuson and Jordan Pace. However, it is very likely to rear its ugly head again in the next session.

All three of the aforementioned representatives, as well as the rest of the republican caucus that signed the loyalty pledge are establishment shills, and they do not represent us! Voters need to do better jobs vetting their candidates! Blind ignorance and name recognition is what gets us 40% conservative legislative turnout. We are the bluest red state in the country, and with representatives like these, it is easy to see why. In the cases of Carla Schuessler and Jeff Johnson, Shannon Grady and John Beatty, respectively, would be far better alternatives. They would not have voted for this bill. They will stand for We the People. Vote June 11!
