The SC Gubernatorial Race
The Gubernatorial primary for South Carolina is scheduled for June 9th, 2026. That may seem far off, but it really isn’t. Declared candidates have already been tearing into each other. The candidates, as of now, are Pamela Evette, Alan Wilson, Nancy Mace, Ralph Norman, and Josh Kimbrell. Henry McMaster, the sitting governor, is term limited.
Pamela Evette is the single worst candidate on the slate. She is the sitting Lieutenant Governor, and an Evette administration would be little more than continuity of the RINO, that’s Republican in name only, currently occupying the office. When McMaster wanted to appoint an Anthony Fauci – type health czar (Ed Simmer), who would have been able to make all the state’s medical decisions, she did nothing to oppose it. Evette has been involved in several scandals. She put out ads which implied she had President Trump’s endorsement, which she does not. The ads showed them making appearances together, but never outright claimed he endorsed her. She did the same with Governor McMaster, though he didn’t endorse her either. It was dishonest, and she had to take these ads down. She was also involved with a group of self-named “Pirates” in Horry County, whose goal was to unseat duly elected conservative leadership to replace them with democrat-lite to run the county Republican party. She plotted secretly with these “Pirates,” which included Reese Boyd, the current fraud who chairs the party, after it was stolen. (For more on this, see “Shadow Government from 12/24/2022 and “Establishment Corruption” from 2/9/2023, and visit goppirates.weluvgolf.com.) Just about every crooked establishment shill in the county is backing her. The side of good should not be on the same side as them. Make no mistake, Pamela Evette is a corrupt politician, and cannot be trusted.
Alan Wilson also cannot be trusted. As state Attorney General, he has used his position to selectively target people he does not like. Contrarily, he has ignored the possible lawsuits that deserve attention. Nancy Mace has accused him of ignoring allegations of sexual assault, voyeurism, and harassment involving her former fiancé, Patrick Bryant. He’s also dismissed 92% of child pornography and child sexual exploitation cases in Dorchester County between 2019 and 2022, according to Mace. Data shows only 29 convictions out of 385 cases. Of those, only two resulted in prison time. His vendetta against Nancy Mace has led him to exploit a story in which Mace was accused of using foul language at the airport in Charleston, which even if true, certainly doesn’t rise to the level of his political opportunism. He refuses to even look at the other side or explore the possibility that Mace was innocent. His father is Joe Wilson, House Representative in the 2nd district of South Carolina, so nepotism has helped him get where he is today. He’s been accused by many of political favoritism. He is, much like Evette, an establishment shill in the game for power.
Josh Kimbrell is currently in the state Senate. So far, in almost six years in office, his conservative voting record sits at 46%. That’s actually higher than most of the Republican caucus in our state legislature. But it’s still not acceptable. It begs the question how he’d vote in the U.S. Senate. The fact that he has a lot of RINO establishment friends and that he is not a member of the Freedom Caucus (whose voting records are much better) should give any conservative pause. (Check thefreedomindex.org/sc for a list of his votes.)
Ralph Norman is a sitting Congressman, representing South Carolina’s 5th Congressional district. Norman is a solid conservative. He has an 87% conservative voting record, as per the aforementioned Freedom Index. I really have nothing bad to say about him, except that he kind of lacks the oomph that’s already been a focus of this election. If he wins, I’d be fine with it, but I just don’t think he has the name recognition Nancy Mace does.
The Brooklynite on the Right is supporting Nancy Mace, and here’s why. She’s a warrior. A fighter. She does not back down. She fought vigorously to keep men out of women’s bathrooms (and when I say men, that includes men who pretend to be women). She was not always a Trump supporter, but has become one, as the pair have developed a mutual respect. She is the candidate the establishment hates the most, which tells quite a bit. She, like Ralph Norman, sits in Congress currently (1st district), and the two are friends. She has unveiled a plan to ban drag shows for children. She’s visited the border and voted on over 60 bills to secure it. On her website is a long list of bills she’s backed, and they are all America First.
It's worth mentioning that President Trump has not yet made an endorsement in this race, and it is unclear if he will. If he chooses to endorse anyone, it will probably be Evette or Mace, and based on his track record of bad endorsements (See “Trump’s Bad Endorsements” from 5/20/2024), one may not be too optimistic he’s going to do the right thing here. He endorsed Lindsey Graham for Senate and a slew of Rs with lower than 40% conservative voting records for State House and Senate last year.
