South Carolina - A Triad of Voter Fraud

There is a three-headed monster in the state of South Carolina that takes the integrity out of elections. If we are able to get rid of these three things, our state government would be much more representative of South Carolina residents. There is a reason why the state only turns out about 40% conservative legislation, despite the fact the people are far more conservative than that. In 2024, South Carolina went 58-40 for President Trump. It’s clear that the people are more conservative than the politicians, by far.

The three threats to election integrity are open primaries, voting machines, and non-partisan elections. The good ‘ol boy establishment rinos here in South Carolina run circles to prevent these items from changing. They also grant power to Democrats when they should have none. We already know the establishment Republicans in the state House of Representatives would rather work with and vote with Democrats than the Freedom Caucus, who are the true representatives of We the People. The FC has said this in no uncertain terms, and it has been proven by so many votes.

About half the country have open primaries. In an open primary, members of one party can vote in either party’s primaries, whereas in a closed primary, parties pick their own candidates. In other words, a Democrat can walk in to vote on primary day and request a Republican ballot in an open primary state. Knowing the Democrat likely doesn’t have a chance in the general election, they will vote for the most left wing, swampy republican they can find. It’s how the state House has so many members with lower than 50% conservative voting records (including my own, who votes conservatively 24% of the time). The rino wing of the party actually court democrat votes during the primary. They are basically saying, “I’m closer to a democrat than my primary opponent, vote for me.” And they do. Removing open primaries would decrease the power of these false Republicans dramatically, and the Freedom Caucus would grow.

Drew McKissick, one of the most corrupt politicians in South Carolina, has been the chair of the state Republican party since 2017. He has cheated his way into getting elected more than once. In 2023, he backed the rino conniving Horry delegation that stole the party, because he knew they would vote for him (GOPpirates.weluvgolf.com), and the rightfully elected conservative leadership would not. That alone swung the election in his favor. Earlier this year, he froze out the entire county of Pickens, citing procedural reasons (Pickens, not surprisingly, is one of the more conservative counties in the state, so they would have voted against him as well). Rigging the game is par for the course for this guy, and nothing will change under his leadership. He acts as if it will though. Before the 2025 reorganization, in which the party chair is elected, McKissick claimed he would push for closed primaries, obviously a ploy to garner conservatives to his side. Then he won unfairly, and there has been no talk of closing the primaries for the last six months at all. The man is a liar and a fraud, and he must go. Change starts at the top. Hopefully 2027 will finally be the year intelligent people see through his veil of empty promises and fraud.

Voting machines are increasingly coming under scrutiny nationally since the 2020 election, and they cannot be trusted. The left will label us conspiracy theorists for saying so, but the truth is they cannot win fair elections. Locally, these voting machines were purchased from Texas, who was getting rid of them (which begs several questions). Personally, I have been to a demonstration of the board of elections to demonstrate the operation of these machines, and I was not convinced of their purity. We were not allowed to do a test vote. (There have also been many stories of tampering and of improper vote counts spewed out by these machines by people who have worked the local polls. These concerns have been raised and presented to the board of elections, and subsequently ignored.) For some reason, the establishment loves voting machines. When they like something, it’s usually a pretty good indicator to treat it with scrutiny. Meanwhile, paper ballots have a much lower likelihood of manipulation.

Finally, non-partisan elections are an issue this blog has discussed in great detail recently. (See “Non-Partisan Elections Need to Go Away” from 10/5/2025.) I won’t spend too much time on that one – the problems with those elections are described in great detail in the aforementioned article. The gist of it is that non-partisan elections give candidates cover, so they can conceal their actual beliefs and speak in general platitudes.

If we can change just one of these three, it would make a world of difference. But the goal should be to get rid of all of them. The people of South Carolina deserve better than 40% conservative legislation. They deserve better than being only the 33rd most conservative state in the country. They deserve transparency, and they are not getting it now.
