Trump’s Terrible Endorsements Continue, Further Alienating Conservatives

President Trump’s horrible endorsements in the state of South Carolina continued last night. He is already backing warmongering Lindsey Graham for senate, with his 43% conservative voting record. Now he’s decided to back Pamela Evette for governor, the current sitting Lieutenant Governor, and the absolute worst candidate of all six on the ballot.

Evette, who was involved in the underground group who plotted to steal the Horry County GOP from actual conservative leadership (goppirates.weluvgolf.com) is the furthest thing from a conservative on the Republican slate. She is a crooked career politician. Rumor has it she is going to introduce Henry McMaster Jr. as her running mate to continue the stranglehold of rino power in this state. She likes to say “Go woke, go broke” in public, but behind the scenes she is a supporter of DEI policy (https://nancymace.org/dei-pam/). An Evette administration would be nothing more than continuity of the one we have now, which shut down the state in 2020, told you to mask up, and tried to put Anthony Fauci 2.0 (Ed Simmer) in charge of the state’s health decisions.

President Trump’s endorsements in the state of South Carolina are worse than any of the other 49 states. He gets it wrong here every single time. It begs the question of who is getting in his ear. Is it the grifters, thieves, and other crooks who were involved in the Horry County GOP’s corrupt takeover? Perhaps it’s Henry McMaster that got him to back his sitting Lieutenant Governor. Or maybe it was Lindsey Graham, since all these people have a way of supporting each other and covering up their own corruption. In 2022, Trump backed Henry’s reelection bid. In 2024, he endorsed a slate of House Republican caucus members, essentially giving the middle finger to the conservative Freedom Caucus. (This included my own representative, who had worked for Hillary Clinton before and had a 17% conservative voting record.) And of course, this year, he’s backing Lindsey Graham (who no conservative takes seriously, including the late Rush Limbaugh and Charlie Kirk) and Pamela Evette. President Trump campaigned on draining the swamp. He has done so in other areas of the country, but here, it has gotten deeper, as he has opted to back the swampiest candidates possible.

Another question that needs to be asked – why did Trump wait this long to make an endorsement? Last night was already day 4 of early voting. For a while, it seemed Trump would not endorse anyone in this race. Now he has, last minute.

It’s frustrating to be a conservative here in South Carolina. Always an uphill battle, the road not taken, and choosing what is right over what is easy. For me personally, it’s going to sting for a little bit, but I will never stop fighting for what is right. I refuse to choose the easy road, as so many mindless people do. Conservatives are shunned in this state, while rinos are always celebrating. Their day will come.
